Canon USA
Content Strategy, Integrated Marketing, Interaction Design, Technology
I directed user experience and technology for 360i’s Canon USA accounts over a two-year period, implementing new standards and executing a number of digital properties.
A New Partnership
Canon USA was a Dentsu client, but they did not have a digital AOR. 360i was awarded business shortly after my start, and I took the opportunity to be the Technical and Experience Director for the account.
Crafting the MSA
From an operational perspective, I was responsible for crafting the majority of the Master Service Agreement (MSA) between 360i and Canon, working hand-in-hand with 360i’s legal counsel and IT administration (to justify security standards through the organization).
User Experience
As 360i did not have a UX department at the time, I handled most of the experience strategy and UX design for the properties we were awarded. By the time I left, I had two full-time UX team members staffed to the account.
Technical Architecture Implementation
In addition I established the technical architecture to handle development, review and deployment workflows that complied with Canon’s IT security policies. This involved security and vulnerability testing on every release, ensuring no single point of failure, and uptime warranties.
Featured Canon Projects
The projects featured below were just some of the campaigns and engagements that I directed. Select any of them to read the case study and learn more about each of them.
Canon Explore Lenses
I led the implementation of a digital and social campaign that helps improve visitors’ photography skills while encouraging exploration into Canon’s mid-tier lenses.
Canon Glass First
For it’s 100-millionth lens made, Canon launched a campaign that focused on what got them there — the engineering in the glass inside.
Canon Cinema EOS
Launched in late 2013, the Canon Cinema EOS website showcases a prestigious product line for professional-grade film and cinema equipment.
