In 2011 I supported the front-end redesign and UI development of GE Ecomagination into a full-fledged publishing platform, successfully launching one of GE’s first forays into content marketing.
Extensive Design Language Development
With five to seven developers working with a handful of designers, close collaboration was required to ensure that the master style guide retained consistency of experience across a plethora of components and templates.
No Public Code Libraries Allowed
GE’s IT would not allow publicly licensed presentation-layer scripts or markup, so all functionality and layout had to be developed from scratch and pass validation.
Consulting with Content Pros
Much time was spent consulting numerous content marketing services and aggregators to find the best workflow fit for the GE Ecomagination brand and editorial team.
